In 1864, Bannack was named the first Territorial Capital of Montana. From 1860's to the 1930, Bannack continued as a mining town, today it is a State Park preserving over sixty structures that are still standing and one may explore.

An area, where First Nations people lived in harmony with the buffalo for thousands of years. I guess one doesn’t have to say what happened, when the arrival of new settlers came to claim this land ever since.
